Born 1962, Egypt. Lives and works in Sydney.

In 2011, Hany Armanious was the sole representative of Australia at the 54th Venice Biennale. Recent solo exhibitions include Selflok at the City Gallery Wellington (2014) and UCLA Hammer Museum (2001), The Golden Thread at Monash Museum of Art (2012), The Oracle at the Contemporary Art Museum St Louis (2008) and Morphic Resonance at the Institute of Modern Art, Brisbane (2006). Armanious' work has been exhibited in significant group exhibitions and biennales worldwide, and is held in major public and private collections in Australia and abroad.
